Once a year during rainy season (February to May) the lagoon has too much water and the water breaks through to the ocean. Then the lagoon is too shallow to ride on it and also gets dry. Be careful with rocks in the water who have very sharp shells on it. They are in the middle of the lagoon closer to the beach. It's recommended to wear shoes.

🚶Short walk to the beach
Icarai is 25km from Fortaleza. Drive from Fortaleza through Icarai and see on the right side the lagoon when crossing a bridge. Turn right after the bridge and best launch is at the beach.
