The worst time is August to December. Perfect for downwind trips to Boca Paila until Punta Allen, with N, NE, E, and SE winds. And incredible ride in front of the Tulum Maya Ruins with E or SE.

Water 26°C, air 25-30°C. In winter we use a short or long wetsuit, 1.5 or 3mm in colder northerlies.
What to Expect
Chop inside the reef. Reef out about 600-800m. Fairly choppy, not too smooth. Water is very aqua blue. Could get out onto reef break opposite the ruins with the right conditions and surf waves with 5-6 feet waves out on the reef. In most places the reef is too shallow.
