When there is light fickle winds everywhere else in AK this place will be cranking with 15-25 knots of thermal breeze. The thermal breeze is from the SSW so funnels through the headlands perfectly.
When to Go
Air temp winter: 13°C average, sometimes up to 20°C. Air temp summer: 24°C average, sometimes up to 30°C. Water temp can get very warm during summer. Over 30°C so wetsuit definitely not required. Rash shirt for protection from the sun.

🚶Short walk to the beach
From the airport take the Southwestern highway along the coast of the Manukau Harbour until you get to Hillsborough. Then get the map out and try to get to Titirangi. Then follow the signposted road that leads you to Huia. Huia is the last town/beach before you have to traverse the heads.
