There are currents in the front of the spot, only when the water runs out, if you don't like that go in the bigger back part of the lagoon, there you find the whole day flat water conditions. If you like small waves because you are practicing the first steps on waves, go on the right side of the beach. Here you find (depending on the tides) a big area to stand in the water and the waves are not that high. If you prefer more radical waves, go to the left side of the beach, not for beginners there.

🚗No walk to the beach
The distance from the airport in Natal to Barra do Cunhau is about 1 hour drive (85km). Take the bus or drive by car from airport south via street number BR101. After about 70km you turn left direct to street number RN269. On the way you will pass Canguaretama. After 15 km you are in Barra do Cunhau.
